Sydney-based designer Annie Schwebel has always loved dressing up. Her Nan's old jewellery and her Mum's discarded 60s frocks were favorite sources of joy and before long, she had the most extensive "dress-up box" in the neighbourhood.
Well, Annie's love of vintage has never died, but these days, the focus of her passion is creating original and quirky jewellery pieces from vintage buttons, buckles and charms. Her 'vintage treasures' include one-of-a-kind brooches and hair clips.
Annie's background in graphic design influences her approach to jewellery design - with colour, whimsy and uniqueness in mind. Each piece is lovingly assembled by hand in her Newtown studio based on what fits together that day, what "feels" right, or just what makes her smile. The process is fairly organic but thoroughly considered...
Annie's passion for animals and nature drive her collection - both in its content and the reason why she loves upcycling. Her designs really are little treasures!
